The Mid-Infrared Coherent Sources (MICS) conference run by the OSA will be held later this month (27-Oct to 01-Nov-2013; Paris, France). A post-deadline paper to be presented by Peter Moselund (NKT Photonics) has been accepted entitled, “Highly Stable, All-fiber, High Power ZBLAN Supercontinuum Source Reaching 4.75 μm used for Nanosecond mid-IR Spectroscopy.” This is an exciting result for the project, and it will be a great opportunity to present to such a relevant expert audience.

The conference is very well aligned with MINERVA’s technology area and will present recent research into a variety of sources emitting in the mid-IR region. Further topics include sources in the terahertz region, and frequency conversion techniques in semiconductors. The use of mid-IR and terahertz sources for remote sensing, spectroscopy, imaging, and bio-medical applications will be presented.
